So many angry scaplars.
update: For clarity, this announcement is only for European pre-orders.
Original work: If you’ve been waiting for the Xenoblade 3 Collector’s Edition at the end of this month, you’ll have to wait a bit longer. Or maybe a little more. Nintendo has announced that it will not be able to start pre-orders before the game starts on July 29th.
So what does that mean? This means that if you want to play on the release date, you need to buy a plain and simple standard edition. However, Nintendo is doing the right thing here by purchasing the collector’s edition content separately. This means you can get the game (digitally or physically) on the release date and worry about bonus material when Nintendo is finally available.
This is a decent compromise, and we haven’t yet faced the ridicule of gamers, especially given the problems Nintendo had when it first launched the pre-sale of collector’s editions. Forcing me to buy only at the My Nintendo store basically broke the website and Nintendo hasn’t been able to solve the problem ever since. Now, while allowing Xenoblade fans to play the game in the meantime, they can take the time needed to understand things.
Prices for individual content in the Collector’s Edition are not provided. We know that pre-orders will not start until September. Until then, go to your favorite retail store to pre-order the standard version.
