A famous Japanese game developer faces charges stemming from one of today’s most infamous creations.
According to the Fuji News Network report, former Sega creative leader Yuji Naka has been arrested and charged with insider trading (the act of buying and selling securities such as stocks using information that is not open to the public).
The incident allegedly occurred in early 2020, when Naka was working at Square Enix (development of Balan Wonderworld), and two other Square Enix employees were also charged with insider trading. The trio are said to have purchased shares Mobile developer Aiming Ahead of the announcement of Dragon Quest Tact, a mobile strategy RPG based on the Dragon Quest franchise.
