Never mind Ganon, anyone who has had the courage to see it will tell you. truth The Zelda series Dark Beast is that timeline. Until Skyward Sword came along, many of us were content enough to come up with our own theories about how games fit together, or how one game could lead to the next. I was just happily playing, oblivious to the complexity of how it would flow.then Hyrule Historia It came out in 2011 and shook it all up.
This official interlocking book suggests that instead of one cohesive timeline, there are actually three separate parts to follow after the events of Ocarina of Time – “Heroes are Defeated” and “Heroes triumph (childhood and adulthood)”).And this does not consider any of the games that will be released rear Since it’s Skyward Sword, I could only speculate as to where things like Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom would fit. Put simply, TRUE complicated, TRUE fast.
Luckily, we’re here to help you figure it all out. We’ve perused Hyrule’s official chronology in books, hunted for clues in games, and read through theories to drive Zonai crazy. All in the name of trying to figure out where Tears of the Kingdom (and Breath of the Wild) is. ) applies to the order of events.
Before we delve into this latest generation, let’s quickly put together an “official” timeline to keep everyone on the same page. And yes, we’ll cover just about every set event and plot point. all This game includes a Zelda game (although we’re briefly talking about Tears of the Kingdom for now). spoilers first.
A notepad is ready. Let’s play time travel (Ocarina of)…
Explaining the Zelda timeline
Timeline by Hyrule Historia
I’ll give you a quick overview here, so please be patient.
legend of goddess and hero
Hyrule and the Triforce were created by three goddesses (Din, Nehru, and Flore) and are under the control of another goddess called Hylia. War soon erupts after an evil entity called Demis attempts to take possession of the Triforce, but is sealed by Hylia and her forces. Hylia lifts the Triforce and her humans into the sky on a giant floating island called a Skyloft.
Hylia was reincarnated as a human (Zelda), kidnapped by one of Dimis’ servants and brought to the surface in order to obtain the Triforce. She is saved by her friend Link, who defeated Dimis, but before that a villain curses the two of them, saying that his quest for revenge is eternal, and that his evil version will forever bear the blood of the Goddess. He swears he’ll hunt us down – spooky stuff.
Years pass. The people of Skyloft return to the surface and name it Hyrule. A sorceress called Varti has a nasty business, and he is eventually sealed in a powerful picori blade known as the Four Sword.
rear Several After many years of peace, Hyrule plunges into civil war. The baby is entrusted to the great Deku tree and raised as a Kokiri, and grows into a link. Link meets a new version of Princess Zelda (there will be a lot of this reincarnation business, frankly), and they both learn that an evil Gerudo called Ganondorf is trying to steal the Triforce, and Link finds himself seven years ago. time travel. He can wield the legendary Master Sword to defeat evil.
Games included:
Twilight Realm and the Legacy of the Hero
After defeating Ganondorf at the end of Ocarina of Time, Link travels back in time to spend his childhood. He restores the Master Sword to its pedestal, warns Zelda of Ganondorf’s plans, and escapes with the Ocarina so that Gerudo can never open the Time Seal. to make sure He manages to escape punishment (spoiler: he does).
Link visits an alternate world, fights a terrifying moon, and returns to Hyrule to spend the rest of his unforgettable days as a hero, but it’s all very sad and the game doesn’t really touch on that much. .
100 years pass and Ganondorf escapes execution (who would have guessed?!) and is banished to the Twilight Realm, where he amasses power and eventually kidnaps Princess Zelda. A direct descendant of the Hero of Time (also known as Link) continues his adventure to save the Princess. He killed Ganondorf, saved Hyrule, and the gate between the two realms was shattered.
Ganondorf reincarnates and frees Varti from the Four Swords, but Link easily deals with both.
Games included:
Heroes of the Wind and the New World (Heroes Win – Adult Timeline)
Rewind to the end of Ocarina of Time. Link defeats Ganondorf (sealed by the Sage) and is sent back to the past, but what will happen to the timeline without Link? good, genocide.
Ganondorf escapes the seal and occupies Hyrule. With no heroes to protect them, the kings of Hyrule leave the fate of the world to the gods, who rapidly flood the land, allowing only a select few to survive.
Years pass and Ganondorf escapes from the Water Tomb (yes, again). Link gathers the shattered pieces of the Triforce, re-powers the Master Sword, and descends to the bottom of the sea to end Ganondorf forever – he thrusts his sword through his head, turning Gerudo to stone. (This is serious)). By the Hyrule King’s wish, the Triforce, Ganondorf, and Hyrule itself are washed away in hopes of a better future.
Link and Zelda (referred to here as Tetra) embark on a journey to find the new Hyrule. There were some ghost ship pranks along the way, but in the end they found new lands (and even had their own railroad network). Hundreds of years later, Zelda and Link (reincarnated) have freed the country from evil and lived happily ever after…
Games included:
The Decline of Hyrule and the Last Hero (Heroes are Defeated)
Returning to the end of Ocarina, this time the link is lost By Ganondorf. The Demon King has stolen the Triforce, sealed it in the sacred realm by the Seven Sages, and fallen into the world of darkness. Sages completely seal the world of darkness.
Ganondorf’s power grows and a hero called Link (Surprise Surprise) enters the kingdom to defeat him. He succeeds and takes control of the Triforce, entrusting the crest to the royal family in hopes of peace.
After that, various reincarnated people will be the main characters, and many adventures will unfold. These include Fish Island, Flame Resurrection, and hopping between worlds. Simply put, there’s family drama with royalty, and Zelda is in a permanent coma.
Ganon revives again, but is defeated by Link. Link regains the full Triforce and uses it to awaken a sleeping Zelda, and peace returns to Hyrule.
