Boat Locker and Bay Mills Studios have announced a collaboration to create a new television series based on the beloved character of AA Milne’s Winnie the Pooh. Titled Christopher Robin, the show is set to be an R-rated comedy reimagining the classic story in a live-action/animation hybrid format. deadline was first reported.
The logline reads, “Christopher Robin is a disillusioned New Yorker, aided by strange talking animals who live beyond a drug-induced portal outside his derelict housing complex, Hundred Acres. We are getting through the quarter life crisis.”
The series is based on an original script by Charlie Kesslerling (Most Likely To, Turned On), who also serves as Executive Producer. Conrad Vernon, who has worked on hit animated films such as Shrek 2 and Sausage Party, will direct the pilot episode and executive produce.
Boat Rocker’s Nick Nantell and Bay Mills Studios’ Holly Hubsher will also serve as executive producers on the series, along with Anderson and James. No release date has been announced yet.
It’s been a really good year for fans of a very specific niche of R-rated Winnie the Pooh content. , was published in early January. GameSpot’s Alyse Wax called Blood And Honey “frankly” and “not particularly good”. You can read their review here.
