After many rumors, Sony has finally confirmed its next product playstation showcase. The company’s future is largely shrouded in mystery, too, so there’s plenty of room for all sorts of information to come to light. And while it probably won’t include Knack 3 or another of his Ape Escapes, here are 10 of his other announcements for the PlayStation Showcase that are likely to show up instead.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
While Square Enix prepares to release one Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is still on the horizon. The company hasn’t released much of the long-awaited sequel since it came out in June 2022, and fans have been curious to see what happens next in this remade trilogy. With the PlayStation 5 still slated for winter 2023, Square should start showing more work in the near future, and the PlayStation Showcase would definitely be the place to do it.
The Last of Us multiplayer game
Naughty Dog has been talking about this multiplayer The Last of Us game for years, and it should start rolling out at some point. Neil Druckmann showed off his art of the concept at his last Summer Game Fest Live. So it makes sense that the team would at least make a trailer a full year later. Druckmann even said the studio will reveal more information in 2023. With the series celebrating its 10th anniversary and still continuing to receive the success of the HBO series, there are multiple reasons why this highly anticipated multiplayer game is likely to be one of the next. Stars of the PlayStation Showcase.
Death stranding 2
Hideo Kojima has to choose whether he’s on good terms with Sony or Jeff Cayley. It wouldn’t be unheard of to see a new Death Stranding 2 trailer at the PlayStation Showcase or Summer Game Fest. But given that the PlayStation Showcase is a bit earlier than Keighley’s show, and that Sony is paying for Death Stranding, we could probably see more Death Stranding 2 footage at Sony’s event. would be expensive. Death Stranding 2 is also a tentative title, so Kojima Productions has an opportunity to reveal the final name as well.
metal gear solid 3 remake
It seems inevitable that a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 will sneak into the PlayStation Showcase. The title hasn’t been officially announced yet, but trusted sources point out that this modern update to the classic stealth game will proudly appear with Sony for the first time. Such a debut makes sense, as PlayStation has been associated with Metal Gear Solid since his seminal work in 1998. The remake of Silent Hill 2 is also his PS5 exclusive for the time being, suggesting that there is formal precedent for such a partnership.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Anything can happen, but it’s almost a given that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will make it to the PlayStation Showcase. This is arguably Sony’s biggest holiday title, and it’s the kind of prestige that a show like this has at stake. With unsubstantiated rumors circulating in the absence of official information, it’s also the right time to dispel those whispers with official details and a lengthy trailer. Tony Todd’s rambling nonsense That’s not the only Spider-Man 2 information to be announced in the first half of this year.
game of atom
After the near universal acclaim for Astro Bot Rescue Mission, it was strange that Sony didn’t have an Astro Bot game ready for the PlayStation VR2 launch. PS VR2 could use another hit, and Astro Bot is a rising star in the PlayStation ecosystem, so another entry isn’t out of the question. PS VR2 probably won’t be a big part of the show, but if it does get a slot, Astro Bot deserves it.
Neil Druckmann game
As he suggested at the 2022 Summer Game FestNeil Druckmann is working on something other than multiplayer The Last of Us, but it’s unclear what that might be. It seems silly for his two games from the same studio to appear in his PlayStation showcase, but Insomniac has appeared in his 2021 showcase alongside Wolverine and Spider-Man 2. Druckmann speaks openly about Sony’s intention to give Naughty Dog a healthy dose of freedomSo it’s no surprise that it will be The Last of Us Part III.
Resident Evil 4’s Ada Wong DLC
Sony is in the habit of showing Resident Evil in its shows, and while it’s certainly too early to make another full-length remake or numbered sequel, perhaps now is the time for a secret Resident Evil 4 remake. Now would be a good time to reveal more about the rumored Ada Wong DLC. . DLC is often understated compared to the lineup of upcoming titles, but Resident Evil 4 is no archetypal game, and its remakes are still floating around in gaming circles. VR content is also possible, but Capcom has just started developing it, so it seems unlikely.
Bluepoint Games project
Bluepoint Games is secretly developing something, Surprisingly not a remake. Until now, there has been a tendency to prefer remasters and remakes, and the field of activity has been narrowed, but here the frontage is even wider. By tracing the classics, the studio has undoubtedly learned the basics of timeless design, which is why its first new addition is so compelling. But even if it’s somehow just a Bloodborne port, it’s still fine and would be one of the best announcements at the PlayStation Showcase.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remake
The 2017 game is about to get a remake, but the progress we saw with Horizon Forbidden West and the overall impressive quality of The Last of Us Part I (at least the PS5 version) makes the rumored Horizon Zero Dawn remake even more compelling. Introducing the sequel’s livelier animations and more responsive combat cannot be understated. Seeing Horizon unleashed on PS4 is an eye-opener. Recent Burning Shores DLC.
Multiplayer games are theoretically more exciting, but perhaps even farther. So don’t expect this to be one of the PlayStation Showcase announcements.
