It’s Puzzle Bobble Every Bubble! Is it worth getting a Nintendo Switch? I can understand your hesitation at first. in the end, The Last Game of Bub and Bob It didn’t live up to expectations. But fans will be relieved to know that the latest (I grew up knowing it as “Bust-A-Move”) is better. The foundations of this bubble-busting puzzle game are still strong. Read on to find out what makes this latest installment so special, especially with its new gameplay modes.
First, some background. This series starting from is very nostalgic for me. arcade original (also available on switches) and memories of 3DO ports in the mid-90s. Boasting titles such as N64, it quickly established itself on Nintendo hardware. sequel (also accessible on Switch), Wii boot games, various entries on DS, and more. So take this for what it’s worth. If you ask me what my favorite puzzle game is, this series ranks near the top for too many reasons.
Every bubble! He has three main modes, and the one that probably gets your attention first is ‘Story’. You will travel from village to town helping the bubble invade. Yes there is a plot, but this type of game doesn’t need a plot. It’s kind of funny to see the reaction when the bubbles overflow. Some people are crazy about it, but most people find it disturbing. Young people should laugh, but most people stick to the puzzle he aims to earn 3 stars to unlock EX stages that pose a challenge like Bobble veterans are used to. will do.
Speaking of challenges, expect a spike in difficulty throughout the story. The game uses an excessive amount of bubble types and special effect bubbles. Combined with a narrow playing field and some time limits, expect game over screens and “assist” prompts. Fewer are better, so I think it would have been better to reduce the number of gimmick bubbles so that the remaining ones had more chances to shine. Some things, like the “change bubble,” sound better on paper than they actually do. Changing colors once a second is non-addictive difficulty for me. Again, the EX stages are key in terms of challenges.
Story mode also has a “Baron’s Tower” featuring a playfield with rapidly falling bubbles. Here you can challenge your scores on the world leaderboards and be amazed at how some players have achieved their scores. Frankly, unlocking the hard and extreme difficulty of this mode is beyond my current imagination. However, it’s worth noting that the load times are pretty fast and there’s a handy option to sort the scores to show only your friends’ scores.
To the next mode “Vs.”. Provides what you would normally expect. The most notable thing here is the built-in online play. This is a good feature for competitive players who don’t have local friends to play with. The online experience runs smoothly overall, and I’ve never had a problem finding an opponent. However, there doesn’t seem to be an option to choose your opponent’s skill level, so it’s unclear what kind of players you’ll encounter. Personally, I don’t think many people actively seek out this mode, but it serves its purpose well.
Every bubble! Rise to the top through the “Puzzle Bobble vs. Space Invaders” mode, so to speak.like Arkanoid Before that, the amalgamation of Space Invaders with another iconic Taito series has proven to be a winning combination. The large playfield has intruder bubbles mixed in with regular suspects, so it’s wise to prioritize them before their projectiles lock them in place. My wife and I played co-op and had a lot of fun. Even solo players can add up to 3 computer buddies. Note, however, that the scores are aggregated separately even though they worked together. As a result, CPU players often prioritize their own scores, sometimes hindering team-oriented progress. Nonetheless, the mode has plenty of potential for expansion, and this puzzle he stands as the best addition to the Bobble entry.
I can’t say it beats the previous game, Puzzle Bobble Everybubble! A good (and replayable) entry, and I recommend it. Younger players and families who enjoy local co-op should put this higher on their wishlist than solo players who might wait for a sale (or update with more online options). The new Puzzle Bobble vs. Space Invaders is getting a lot of attention!
