We knew it was coming, but still I didn’t want to believe that Nvidia was really trying to release such a graphics card GTX 1630 (Opens in a new tab).. I didn’t want to believe that in 2022 things got worse enough for the Green Team to come back and scrape the silt bottom of the Turing GPU.
Still here. The new GPU, sliced ââinto bone with almost one-third of the GTX 1650 Super’s CUDA cores, is actually retailed at MSRP, which is $ 10 more than the pretty terrible mainstream GPUs.
The Suggested retail price of $ 169 came via Colorful (Opens in a new tab)We are releasing a reasonably high clock version of the card with a dual slot cooling design and a 6-pin PCIe connector. Asus has also announced three different versions, including two nominally overclocked cards. And I expect them to be priced at the $ 200 mark.
For the GTX 1630’s faint spec list, the TU117 GPU boasts only 512 CUDA cores, 4GB of GDDR6 memory on a 64-bit memory bus (yes, you’re reading that right), and a clock speed of 1,815. MHz. To be fair, this is the only place where GPUs have an advantage over Turing’s peers. This is the highest clock GTX 16 series card Nvidia has ever manufactured. yay.
In contrast, when released in 2019, the GTX 1650 Super came with a TU116 GPU with a 1,280 CUDA core, 4GB GDDR6, and a boost clock rate of 1,725MHz. Everything for a more modest $ 159.
Remember that the graphics card actually had the concept of value? If not, I think it’s been a while.
We were talking about it today, but we haven’t yet decided where it came from. Did Nvidia discover the stash of broken TU117 GPUs that it had stored for a rainy day, chop them up and resell them to AIB? Or did you really decide to start anew, knowing that you could sell these cheap old chopped GPUs for huge profits?
Neither sounds like a particularly positive result for us PC gamers.
The GTX 1650 Super is actually a great 1080p GPU at launch, providing an effective 1080p gaming experience for many popular games. In contrast, the new GTX 1630 never works.check out TechPowerUp Review (Opens in a new tab) At the average frame rate across the complete suite of Gainward versions and their game benchmarks, the GTX 1630’s performance is 54% slower than the GTX 1650 Super.
The argument, I think, is that you can’t buy the GTX 1650 Super new for that MSRP right now, but to be honest, there are well-listed second-hand goods on Ebay today, I do. Much cheaper than the price of the GTX 1630 It is highly recommended to try the second hand market before going near this latest Nvidia card.
