The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection may soon be relisted on the Xbox Store
“The’Metal Gear’series released on July 13, 1987 is celebrating its 35th anniversary today,” Konami wrote. “We are preparing to resume sales of suspended titles.”
Last year, Konami pulled out the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection from the Xbox Store because it needed to renew an expired license for past archived footage used in Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3. Konami’s statement at the time was as follows:
“We are currently working on renewing the licenses for some of the past archived footage used in the game, so we are selling Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, and all products including these games. Decided to suspend temporarily. Digital store fronts around the world from November 8, 2021. “
Konami didn’t directly name Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 in his latest tweet, but it could point to these two games. Several different versions of the game on different platforms, including the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for the Xbox 360, were all withdrawn in November. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to buy this classic game collection again. No date has been specified for the game to be reposted, but we’ll let you know when more details are available.
