Since the launch of PS5, we’ve listened to your feedback and worked hard every day to deliver the most requested features from the community. Today we are rolling out a new PS5 system software beta with 1440p support, game listings and additional updates to enhance your PS5 gaming experience and make it easier to connect with friends.
Beta access is limited to invited participants in select countries*, but our goal is to make these updates available to the global community later this year. If you have been selected to participate in the beta, you will receive an email invitation when it becomes available for download today. As always, some features available during the beta stage may not reach final version or undergo significant changes.
Here are some of the new features:
New gameplay and personalization options
- 1440p HDMI video output
- The PS5 beta introduced support for 1440p HDMI video output, allowing players to choose additional visual settings on compatible PC monitors and TVs. **
- If the game you’re playing supports 1440p rendering, you’ll experience native 1440p output on your display.
- Alternatively, if you’re gaming at a higher native resolution such as 4K, you can benefit from improved anti-aliasing with supersampling up to 1440p output.
- You can check if your HDMI device is compatible by selecting “Test 1440p Output” in the “Screen & Video” option in System Settings.
- game list
- Organizing your games is now even easier with the ability to create game lists in your game library.
- To get started, [Your Collection] Select by tab [Create Gamelist]Select the game you want to add to your game list and give it a name.
- You can have up to 15 gamelists and 100 games per gamelist.game library[あなたのコレクション]Any game on the tab can be added to your game list, including disc, digital and streaming titles. *** You can also add the same game to multiple game lists.
- Comparing 3D Audio and Stereo Audio
- Now you can hear and compare the difference between 3D audio and stereo audio on the same screen and then choose your preferred setting.
- Easier access to ongoing activities
- When you resume your game, your ongoing activity is often prominently displayed at the top of your game hub, making it as easy and quick as possible to get back to where you left off.
new social features
- Request sharing screen
- You can now request party members to start screen sharing and watch gameplay. Go to the voice chat card and select the party her member to send the request to, then [Request Share Screen].
- Joinable game notifications
- You will now receive notifications when you join a party and party members are playing games you can join. You can join the game directly from the notification.
- View your new friend’s profile
- When you accept a friend request with [Received] You can now view your new friend’s profile in your list [Accepted Requests].
- Send stickers and voice messages with Game Base
- Game Base cards can now send stickers and voice messages to groups.
