In today’s post, I wanted to dive deeper into new details about how co-op mode works, why we’re adding it to the game, and what you can expect when the co-op update goes live.
First, let’s see what a cooperative update would look like. Please try to imagine. A dog, a tree, and an old man who smells garlic and death itself meets at a dairy factory. And turn the entire screen into a fierce barrage! The co-op update allows you to continue saving files before starting a level and add co-op players in the character select screen.Invite up to 3 local friends to play to the end vampire survivors Story with all characters, weapons, updates, DLC, achievements, and more. It basically adds a completely optional local co-op mode throughout the game.
Now that we’ve covered the basics, here are some more in-depth gameplay insights on the couch co-op mode for our game-savvy readers.
- Each player can select one character, and that character can only be selected once. On screen he simply collapses the universe with four Poe, Othor and Sigma. As in single-player, after playing a stage you can choose a new character.
- Leveling up works slightly differently in couch co-op. The XP bar stays the same, but players level up in turn. If one of your companions finishes early, that level-up will be transferred to the next player.
- Speaking of early ending encounters, sofa co-op turns them into coffins when one of their trusted companions dies. They will respawn over time, but keep their coffins clean if you can. No one knows what the outcome will be if the enemy rushes in…
- As usual, you’ll be able to select weapons as you level up, but the number of weapons you can own depends on how many friends you have playing. This means that for maximum survival time, you have to decide who picks which weapon, but for maximum chaos, you can close your eyes and choose anything.
- There are no achievements specific to couch co-op. We wanted you to be able to play with friends in co-op mode to unlock achievements if you wanted, but you don’t have to. As before, the entire game can be played in single player at any time.
- The game still takes place on a single screen, so you have to tactically agree with your teammates on where to go next and what locations on the map are best for combat.
There are also new items:
- We are happy to reveal the Amulet of Friendship! This item will appear on the level up screen and will level up a random weapon for each player. Players must decide whether to tactically (or selfishly) choose to level up their weapons of choice, or to give random level ups to the entire group.
Finally, I would like to answer the question why we are adding co-op mode in the first place. The answer is surprisingly simple. We gave the game a name. vampire survivors However, it felt a little odd that this was a game for just one vampire survivor. With CO-OP you will finally be able to respect the final ‘s’. vampire survivors!
On a more serious note, co-op was a frequently requested community feature and was high on our list of things we wanted to try. Mainly because I thought it was a lot of fun. Our favorite games also have local co-op games. We believe that the best gaming memories are the ones you play on the couch with your friends, so we wanted to make sure it worked no matter what challenges came up (and they had a great night’s sleep!). stood up like a vampire).
In transforming a single-player experience into a couch co-op experience, we had to answer a lot of gameplay questions.
