“The team is still working on the permadeath mode, which is expected to release in an update early 2024.”
Assassin’s Creed Mirage launched in October, and Ubisoft claims it saw similar launch player numbers to the gargantuan Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Origins. The publisher also announced that Mirage was its “biggest new-gen launch” in terms of sales.
With Mirage, Ubisoft took the series back to its roots, and in our Assassin’s Creed Mirage review, we described the stealth game as a “successful parry of franchise fatigue.”
Last month, Ubisoft managed to spark outrage from players by sneaking Black Friday ads for Mirage into older Assassin’s Creed games. The developer blamed the ads that were popping up when trying to access map menus on a “technical error.”
