Nintendo obviously isn’t going to put it out The Legend of Zelda: Kingdom of Tears A PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 will prevent anyone without a Nintendo Switch from playing one of the biggest games of 2023. PS4 and PS5 games like Tears of the Kingdom, as well as other Zelda titles. Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild are massive games with many facets, and these games touch on some or few of those elements.
Immortals Phoenix Rising
Immortals Fenyx Rising is the game that most shamelessly borrows components from Breath of the Wild. It takes place in a cartoon-like open world and lets the protagonist glide based on the size of an upgradeable stamina bar. Around the map are also areas dedicated to puzzles, much like the Temple of the Breath of the Wild, where players are asked to use their abilities to reach the end. In all of this, the game is a lot like the popular Switch game, but aimed at a younger audience and steeped in Greek mythology.
None of them are as deep as Breath of the Wild, and it doesn’t make sense that the sense of discovery was so important to that title. This is a Ubisoft game with lots of Ubisoft-like marks on the map. But there is something that comes somewhat close to it. On some counts, keep an eye out for anyone looking for a similar experience on different hardware. Puzzles aren’t typically hard and don’t contain multiple solutions, but that expansion, A New God, has some truly creative puzzles that easily surpass all of the core campaign. there is Overall it may be a milder version of that winning formula, but there’s still a little bit of that magic left, which is why it’s on our list of best PS4 and PS5 games like Zelda.

Genshin
Genshin Impact is another title that clearly draws more than a little inspiration. Breath of the Wild. Players can once again glide in a stylized world and upgrade their stamina, but Genshin is closer to his RPGs that also utilize those features and the interplay of Breath of the Wild elements. These RPG systems make the game stand out and make the combat more explosive, setting it apart from other titles on his PS4 and PS5 games list such as Zelda.
Developer miHoYo continues to support the game. This is not surprising since it is a free-to-play game. Those who don’t pay will have to struggle a bit, but especially since he’s three years into the game, there’s still plenty to do and unlock in-game.

elden ring
Elden Ring is one of the few big games after Breath of the Wild that understands how important nature exploration is to gaming. This acclaimed RPG may have all the qualities that FromSoftware’s other games have come to appreciate, such as huge bosses and deliberate combat, but at the same time, it’s a game that challenges players to keep them entertained. It offers a huge world full of secrets that are not easily navigated.
As players roam its sprawling map, it is inevitable to encounter secret dungeons, vast hidden areas, and optional bosses. The feeling is always great, even if it results in instant death. Elden Ring can be sluggish at times, but it also has an exhilaration you don’t often find in other games. That’s why it’s on his list of best PS4 and PS5 games like Zelda.

Chia
Tchia wears a Zelda-influenced tunic, in this case an island dress, more loosely. Tchia is set in a series of New Caledonian-inspired islands that allow players to glide around and pick up collectibles and special stamina-boosting fruits along the way. Tchia’s main mechanic is that it allows you to dive inside the bodies of local wildlife (and inanimate objects), allowing the player to fly (and poop) like a bird or roll chaotically like a rock. I can. Few require players to use these abilities in clever ways to solve puzzles, and its open world is rather on the empty side, but Tchia gives the new Zelda formula a tropical and not-so-intense feel. provide an interpretation that is not

sable
Sable focuses almost purely on waypointless exploration. The desert map is littered with small puzzles, but Sable does it all as he zooms into new areas on the game’s customizable hoverbike, walks around, and does them all without actively holding hands. Built around the satisfaction you get. There’s no combat, and it’s a very quiet experience, so it strips out a lot of the potential mechanics that separate it from the likes of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. But its vibrant art style and curiosity-driven transversal nature, which overlaps on the Venn diagram, is what makes Sable special.

tunic
The tunic’s name itself reminds us of The Legend of Zelda. It doesn’t specifically evoke Breath of the Wild, but Zelda evokes his roots as a game. Breath of the Wild is different from its predecessors, but it still embraces the core tenets of the series in spirit, which is why it’s on his list of PS5 games like Zelda.
Tunic is a mysterious isometric action game that lets players attack, dodge, block and shoot to overcome massive enemies and dungeons. It looks like a typical retro title, but it has a series of secrets that are reminiscent of his Fez from 2011. The work has conventions and contains mysteries that slowly unravel over time. Tunics let players figure things out. This is a lot like the old Zelda his games Breath of the Wild and Tears of Kingdom.

death door
Death’s Door is made of fabric similar to the tunic, and while it’s not a direct Breath of the Wild-like game, it’s similar to the core game of Breath of the Wild and Tears of Kingdom essence. This isometric action RPG has heavy combat and several upgradeable abilities that give players more powers and tools to traverse the world. Its unique art style also rides the line between charm and spookiness, something the Zelda series does quite well at times. Death’s Door’s dungeons are fairly simplistic and lack the true Eureka moments that characterize the Zelda series, but it’s still an interesting experience that blends some ideas so well that it feels original.

ditto sword
While The Sword of Ditto seems like another endearing title that continues Link’s past and does just that in terms of exploring isometric dungeons, Breath of the Wild and some They also have something in common. Players can always take on the final boss, but leveling up and fighting other bosses can make that fight easier. This isn’t too different from how players challenge Calamity and his Ganon from the start in Breath of the Wild. Allowing players more control over their destinies is a welcome degree of freedom.
Swords of Ditto also takes advantage of the roguelite nature to ensure that the runs are different as the levels are procedurally generated. These roots also meant that they weren’t received very positively upon release, but many felt that its death mechanic was too punishing, so the Mormo’s Curse update made the game more appealing. It has been thoroughly overhauled to be more forgiving. The patch also added new enemies and stages, added things to do and improved the endgame.

Dark Siders War Mustard
Darksiders is a much more traditional Zelda title than Breath of the Wild, and it doesn’t hide how much I love Ocarina of Time. It has par with various parts of the Nintendo 64 game, such as Hookshot, Boomerang, and Link’s horse Epona, but dips them in the dark and sharpens the edge. The hero War’s horse is anything but sweet and innocent. He is covered in dark black fur, mystical runes, and, of course, blazing fire.
And while it’s derivative, it’s done well enough to allow for its relative lack of originality. The puzzle-filled dungeon is well laid out and rewards those who use its tools wisely. Breath of the Wild was criticized for having few dungeons, but Darksiders has a lot to make up for and will appeal to those with such common criticisms. The sequel chased Devil May Cry and Diablo, and the third was a misguided Souls-like piece that ruined the Dark Souls blueprint, albeit clearly inspired by a specific game. The purity of the original is what sets this piece apart.

Itoldew 2
Ittle Dew 2 is one of a long list of isometric RPGs reminiscent of the old Zelda games that also incorporate elements from Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Players can play the dungeons in any order, giving them a sense of freedom that many new Zelda titles love. While the sequel did put more emphasis on combat, some derided it as a step backwards, as it lacked the series’ hallmark puzzler.
However, it was removed from the PlayStation Store in September 2019 after a dispute with the game’s publisher Nicalis, making it nearly impossible to play on the PlayStation 4. Developer Ludosity eventually re-released the game on PC and Nintendo Switch as his Ittle Dew 2+, but an updated port of it is coming back to his PS4 (and Xbox One for that matter). It never happened. There was no physical release on PS4, so no chance to play legally on that system. Neither his first game was released on the PlayStation system.
