Dead Island 2 will bring back weapon durability mechanics when the game launches on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One in April, though Dambuster Studios said they weren’t “very strict about it.” I’m here.
Like it or not, the weapon durability mechanics seen in previous series entries return in Dead Island 2, but Dambuster Studios hopes that players will be able to ‘Hell- A’ — in Dead Island 2’s achievements. As long as there’s no damage left on the weapon, we’re happy.

Weapon durability mechanics are a controversial subject, with some players loving the realism offered by worn items and eventually giving up their lives, while keeping players central to the game. Some say it takes it out of focus.talk to game informerDambuster Studios Game Director David Stenton said:
According to Stenton, Dead Island 2 isn’t “very demanding” because it’s not a survival game. Its purpose is to rid Hell-A of the undead using different tools instead of using the same weapon repaired or “level-matched”. Stenton elaborated on this, saying, “Maybe I’m level 10 and that favorite weapon that was my favorite a few hours ago is still at level 5. I really want to pay the cost of level matching for that weapon. Or maybe I’ll actually use the money at the vendor to buy a new modded weapon, or maybe spend the money to apply this new mod and some of the materials I have.
I did a short 20 minute hands-on with Dead Island 2 last year and really enjoyed using myriad weapons to destroy the staggering corpses found on Santa Monica Beach, so excited for the game to launch on Xbox Series X to | S and Xbox One launch on his April 28th.
