we have written at length playstation storeThe simple platinum game (or rather, Shovelware) has become a hotly debated topic among players and trophy hunters, often plaguing the “New Releases” section of storefronts. But how well do these games sell? This is the idea behind such games, courtesy of the indie developers.
Easy Platinum games are cheap and sell well
Matthew Green of TheVoicesGames, the indie developer behind much of the PS Store Shovelware, tweeted that his game Spectrewoods alone has sold 100,000 copies.
Specterwoods has now sold over 100,000 ps4 and ps5 combined. #gamedev

Specterwoods currently costs a whopping $0.49 and its platinum run is around 5 minutes, as shown in the video below.
TheVoicesGames is also the developer of Lizard Lady vs The Cats and Lady in a Leotard With a Gun. One look at the PS Store page is enough to understand what those games are.
All of this highlights one of the biggest arguments in favor of these games. There is quite a market for these games. Trophy and achievement hunting is bigger than many players realize.
The real issue here is Sony’s handling of the issue. Despite previous measures, excavatorware continues to plague the PS Store.
