You may have noticed the event while wandering around Neomna, but only one shot was taken by a boss or enemy.Terminal Overlord has a very high power level, so at least it’s on the first cap. You don’t really have to think about it until you reach 1750 to complete the campaign.I can’t get this either terminal overload key— the best way to get a guaranteed strand gun — until you finish it.
Here’s what you need to do to get the Terminal Overload Key that unlocks an extra chest at the end of the event, and the rotating weapons you can currently get from it:

The Terminal Overload Key cannot be unlocked until the Lightfall Campaign is completed. Welcome to the Hall of Fame A quest that unlocks after that. After completing this stargazer A quest from Quinn Lagari in the halls that explains how to obtain the key and use it at the end of the Terminal Overload event. Once done, you will be able to retrieve more keys in the same way.
There are four main ways to get the terminal overload key in Neomuna.
- patrol
- Public event
- chest
- Nimbus Bounty (unlocks at reputation rank 13)
Aside from the daily bounties you get from Nimbus when you reach Rank 13, the best way to get keys is a combination of the first two methods. Both patrols and public events often kill enemies, so it’s easy to complete them at the same time. It may also get the key from the first chest opened at the end of the Terminal Overload event itself.
The charm of clearing Terminal Overload is to get Neomna’s Strand Weapon, Upgrade Terminal Overload Key Chest This is right after the ability to get the main bounty. With this upgrade, using the key to open the second chest guarantees you’ll get Neomna’s weapon, so it’s worth getting it before you play out the event in earnest.
Terminal Overlord Weapons and Rotation
The Terminal Overload event rotates through each of the major districts of Neomna, but the weapons on offer also change from day to day. Lightfall hasn’t been released yet, so the rotation order isn’t clear yet, but I’ll add it here when I find out.

One of the main attractions of Terminal Overload is that it offers Strand weapons such as Circular Logic and Synchronic Roulette. Both of these can use the Hatchling Perk, which spawns Threadlings with an accurate killing blow or a quick finishing blow. Basso Ostinato also features a new Destabilizing Rounds perk that destabilizes nearby targets when you land the final blow.
