“A lot of other hardcore modes focus on permadeath,” Walker explains. “We wanted to be more focused on creating item rotation and rarity. This mode is all about pushing the player’s skill to the limit. […] It’s hard as hell, but it’s fair and a very nice achievement for those who can get through it.
This begs the question: how many people in the studio were able to actually beat their hardcore mode?
