Will last a long time. Layer of fear. Visage. Scar maid. amnesia. PT. If you’ve played any of these games, you’re basically already experiencing MADiSON. Few duplicates of familiar types of indie horror games released throughout the PS4 generation make the Bloodious Games project stand out.
When you wake up in a dilapidated house with a demon on your tail, you perform the typical task of solving puzzles through environmental clues and matching items with the unusual contradictions they correspond to. You will have free control of the house, unlock new rooms as you go, and encounter brain teasers that constantly escalate. With limited inventory space, you can choose which items to carry with unwanted items stored in safes to reduce backtracking. Are you familiar?
One of the things that makes MADiSON different is its camera. The main character, Luka, holds it in her hand, not the camera operated by the player. Old-fashioned devices are used to modify and modify them within certain puzzles, revealing new clues or interaction points after taking a picture.
This is a great mechanism to suggest that there can always be extra layers in a puzzle, but it can be frustrating if it doesn’t. The game can succumb to a feeling that is too familiar in a horror game with lots of items to use and lots of puzzles to solve, but there seems to be no match.
It also doesn’t do a particularly good job of keeping you on the edge because you’re wandering around the house. You’ll hear noise in the distance, and objects like phones seem to switch on and off randomly, but you can quickly understand the title trick. At least the scripted sequence provides more effective jump scare when the devil stalks you and manipulates the environment.
Another devil that needs to be dealt with is the unexpected kind, but the frame rate, which always causes problems. In most cases, it’s relatively smooth, but apparently randomly, it freezes until the screen crawls for 1 second. Occasionally, one after another, it’s an obvious technical flaw.
If you’ve never played a horror game like this, you may find something you like, but for those familiar with this genre, the ground covered by MADiSON is very worn out. ..
