Hero balance update
in the new season overwatch 2addressed some feedback we received from the community to bring more hero balance to competitive play.
First, we’re adjusting Sojourn’s railgun lethality. Players find it difficult to reach the highest tiers of competitive ranks if they do not have the same mechanical skills as Sojourn players. Encourages players to take advantage of Sojourn’s high mobility to land devastating close-range hits.
Another hero that gets some big changes is Doomfist. While the core of his playstyle remains the same as his hero his identity, the new update helps Doomfist better support his team’s frontline.
Additionally, Ana, Bastion, Junker Queen, Chirico, Mercy, and Symetra will be changed.
Classic and fan-favorite locales
Players can not only dive into the newest map, Chambali Abbey, but also return to past fan-favorite maps to see different locations from a new perspective. Visit the picturesque town of Rialto and take fun rides in Blizzard World, the most spectacular place on earth. Oasis and Nepal now allow players to battle at different times of the day. Meanwhile, the Hollywood and Watchpoint: Gibraltar maps have been rotated out.
New Greek Mythology Battle Pass and Battle of Olympus Mode
The gods and legends of Greek mythology are the theme of Season 2. Play the Battle Pass or upgrade to the Premium Battle Pass to get the legendary Poseidon Ramatra, the legendary Hades Pharah, and the all-new Mythic Zeus Junker Queen skin. This Mythic skin includes new customizations, weapon models, voice lines, and special effects.
An all-new game mode, Battle for Olympus, imbues different heroes with godlike powers. Play limited-time events from January 5th to January 19th and look for new skins throughout the season.
Limited Time Events and Twitch Drops
Get ready for three limited-time events this season! In addition to Battle for Olympus, the classic Winter Wonderland and Lunar New Year events return in fan-favorite modes for even more seasonal rewards . We have released a new feature for Hero Challenges that you can take on To Unlock heroes you haven’t earned yet.Selecting a challenge for the hero you want to unlock will place you in a practice arena where you can learn how to play the hero and eventually overcome the challenge you need to win overwatch game.
