We tried to bring this Pac-Man action back to life with modern graphics and technology.
Production began shortly before the game was announced. What was the overall production timeline like? How did you feel when the title was finally revealed to the world?
Development of this title started in 2020 and the game has been in production for about two years. From the planning stage, we had many discussions about the finished image of the remake, so development proceeded relatively smoothly. It’s been 23 years since the original version was released, but we are aware of the heavy demands from fans for a reprint. pacman world After so many years, we are very happy to finally be able to answer them.
For many fans new to the game development process, what was the first step in remastering a fan favorite, and what were you most excited about?
We believe that remakes and remasters are based on enthusiastic requests from fans, so we are carefully considering whether we can provide an original game experience that does not disappoint their expectations. Consider this question carefully at the beginning of the process. On the other hand, the gameplay that players want is changing with the times. We have to consider not only whether we can reproduce the original, but also whether we can update the game to match the times.
of Repack, Pac-Man and Ghost are more vibrant than ever. What influenced the game’s current look and overall graphic style when it was introduced to current generation hardware?

Are there any specific graphics updates you’d like to point out?

original pacman world The series is known for its catchy soundtrack. Tell us about the process of remaking the game’s iconic musical theme. Are there any specific songs that the game team particularly likes?
We knew that many fans also had a strong attachment to the Pac-Man World soundtrack, so we used the original music for most of the stages and the title screen. We hope you can feel nostalgia from both music and visuals. We all love title screen music. It’s a nice jazzy tune that’s perfect for the beginning of your adventure.
Are there any fun hidden “easter eggs” or other easy-to-miss things gamers should be aware of when playing Ghost Island?
All stages (except “Buccaneer Beach” and the boss battle stage of each area) have hidden six letters “P” “A” “C” “M” “A” “N”. If you collect all of them, you can challenge the special bonus stage, so please look for it!
Pac-Man has been a global icon for over 40 years. Why do you think Pac-Man resonates with so many people?
Pac-Man first appeared as an arcade game in 1980 and has been enjoyed around the world for over 40 years. I think that’s because Pac-Man is a simple game that anyone can play, and the adorable shape and movement of the round yellow Pac-Man greedily devouring it has captured the hearts of many people. I think this “Pac-Manness” is very important for the franchise.
Pac-Man’s historical impact and continued power in the video game world is undeniable. It’s great to have such a fun addition to the Pac-Man Hall of Fame. Thank you for answering my questions today.
