Welcome the New Year with Pure Nintendo! I hope the new year is off to a great start. Our first playlist for 2023 includes everything from sailing adventures to Mario Kart, and plenty of TMNT.

That’s right, sailing. set sail We are here to bring open-world adventures to the ocean. The atmosphere of Windwaker, the many islands and even the dolphin chase make this a very unique title.

Oh Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Is there anything you can’t do? The game saw renewed interest from the team last year thanks to the first three waves of DLC content. We recently got together for a game night and spent a lot of time traveling. With so many new tracks to enjoy, it feels refreshing to revisit the original!

With two major releases in the last year, Pokémon should be on our playlists for a while. I am playing both titles for 2022 while still enjoying Arceus and Scarlet/Violet. Who knows what will happen to this franchise in 2023?

The only question is, what games are you currently playing? Perhaps this will be the year you can catch up on that backlog… we tell ourselves the same thing every year! , let us know the playlist title.

  • set sail (Switch) – I really enjoy this sailing game. We have Windwaker Vibes. I love how it’s an open world. This game has a story, but a lot of the way the story unfolds is how you play the game and have your own adventure.

Kirk

  • Children of Siren Town (Switch) – This puzzle adventure is coming to an end ahead of its January 11th release. You will be sad when it ends. If you like Daedalic games, you’ll love this one too. My review next week will have all the great details.
  • rumble fish 2 (Switch) – I don’t usually go to arcade fighting games, but the original reviewer was injured…it’s called training…so I’m going. I’ll know soon enough if I can go that far.
  • Nintendo Switch Sports (Switch) – My family’s traditional New Year’s Eve game night rekindled our interest in this. With a little more practice, I think I can take the kids to golf.

Treves

  • I posted highlights of Mario Kart 8 DX (Switch) on PN’s Twitter, so be sure to check it out.
  • papetula (Switch) – This is a very good game. If my review hasn’t been posted by the time this list is up, it will be posted soon.
  • Pokémon Legends: Arceus (Switch) – As a GOTY runner-up, I’m slowly creating my Pokédex…when my wife isn’t busy playing. She’s way ahead of me.
  • TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge (Switch) – A PN Crew favourite, played a bit online with Jemma and Justin. Next time I’ll have to come back to the Cowabunga Collection and check for updates.

Gemma

  • Pokémon Violet (Switch) – I love this game. it makes me happy Music, vast open spaces, Pokémon… pure joy. I’m still working hard on Titans, so this is the game I’ll be playing for a while!
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch) – You can’t get enough of Mario Kart, but the latest DLC gives you every reason to pick up Mario Kart again! At the recent Pure Nintendo Game Night, We spent time on the old and new courses. I’m sorry, Trev! You can also read my thoughts on Wave 3 of the Booster Course Pass.
  • TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge (Switch) – This was one of my highlights of 2022 and was included in another game night. Playing with friends is so much fun!
  • River City Girls 2 (Switch) – We are currently reviewing this interesting side-scrolling action. With so many positives, unfortunately there is one negative that ruins the experience. See my review soon!
  • courage and greed (Switch) – Another review title. This is a fun roguelike game with good pixel graphics and lots of loot. See my next review!
