Microsoft discounted a number of games on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC this week thanks to Capcom, Family and Simulator sales. That’s right.
During the Capcom Publisher Sale, Nakon Connect, Family Time Sale, and Simulator Sale, the Xbox Store is full of discounted games. Like most other weeks, the Xbox sale includes games and DLC for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC, so it’s worth checking out to see if there’s anything you’re interested in. There is. Once again, I went through the selection of games on offer to recommend my personal favourites.

Luke ā Silt
It’s rare to see a game do so much for almost nothing like Silt. The detail in the spooky underwater world is astonishing, and the clever use of the monochrome palette gives the impressive and intriguing environment a true sense of depth and mystery. It casts us as curious, nameless divers, with the ability to own some of the strange marine life we āāfind as we explore the deep ocean and try to uncover the secrets of the deep. You’ll need to carry shoals of small fish through tight gaps, control creatures like toothy piranhas to chomp on chains and cables, or become giant creatures like Hammerheads to break through barriers. There might be… it can be hard to come up with the intended sequence of each area when so many other creatures and dangers want you dead, but these self-contained underwater puzzles Solving is always rewarding.
You’re likely to get almost all Silt achievements in a single playthrough, and even a few failed achievements aren’t too far off. There is no health system here, so no safety net for this. Also, some of the later areas are packed with quite a few things that can kill you easily, so this can take a little while. (especially if you already know the tricks to get through each area). Sean ā Aliens: Isolation ā Collection
I don’t think I need to explain how good a game Alien: Isolation is, but Tom asked me to write something for this week’s sales pick, so I will. Alien: Isolation is he one of the scariest games I’ve ever played. The tension, suspense, and terrible atmosphere this game creates is unmatched. Set 15 years after the events of Alien, you play Ellen as her Ripley daughter, Amanda, trying to uncover the truth behind her mother’s appearance. After arriving at the remote trading post Sevastopol, where her mother’s ship, the Nostromo, was recovered, the crew soon realize that something is wrong, and a creature is creeping out of the shadows. Tom ā Aliens: Fireteam Elite
This week, we’re picking Alien: Fireteam Elite as our number one pick, thanks to the fantastic portrayal of the franchise and the beautiful sound of the Pulse Rifle. It’s a cooperative third-person shooter where you and his two other players try to uncover the mysteries of a new planet while fending off Xenomorphs and Androids. Cold Iron Studios did a great job setting the scenes for this game, and the sound effects are spot on. A word of warning though, if you want to unlock all Aliens: Fireteam Elite achievements, you’ll need to purchase the Pathogen expansion. You can play alone on low difficulty, but playing with a friend on harder difficulty really broadens the experience. The rising pitch of panic in his voice as the defenses crumble is worth every penny!
