Crytek has an improvement on the stealth shooter Hunt: Showdown. This includes fixing long-standing technical problems. It’s a horrifying asynchronous teleport that most people have experienced when climbing a ladder or wedged through the same doorways as their teammates. ..
An upcoming 1.9 update is currently underway on Hunt’s public test server, but the full release date for the changes has not yet been set.
New gun skins, legendary hunters, map tweaks, and more are underway, but most changes are technical in nature. This is the biggest thing that stands out to me in Hunt’s 1.9 update, which spent 200 hours on this year’s game.
Propagation of gunshots
Crytek said:
Are those gunshots desperately killing the internal boss, or is it a voluntary encounter between the two teams? This small but important change further emphasizes one of my favorite aspects of Hunt, listening as a skill.
Use your blood bond in the black market
A new kind of rotation store. This seems to be a more complete and thematic implementation of the daily discounts currently in Hunt’s in-game store, featuring “some notorious vendors”. This kind of thing can also be seen in other online competitive games. I like the idea of getting a legend you already own with a Hunt Dollar discount. This can be done if one of the items you own appears in the rotation, Crytek says. Another Bradbond store also needs to get rid of the confusing shopping experience Hunt has now. Here, some items can be purchased with profitable Blood Bonds, while others can be purchased directly for $ 9 to $ 15.
Ammunition (and corresponding gun balance) changes
- “The uppercut damage at close range has been slightly reduced, but it retains better damage over distance.”
- “Reduces slug extra ammunition by about 30-40%”
- “Slugs now distinguish between medium barrel shotguns and long barrel shotguns, with medium barrel shotguns having slightly stronger damage drops over distance than before.
- Winfield 1876 Centennial’s rate of fire has been increased by approximately 20%. “
- “The reload speed has been improved to reduce the reload time of Winfield 1887 Terminus.”
- “Increased the base damage of poison ammo to match normal ammo.”
- “We’ll tweak the trajectory of the long ammo pistol cartridge to slightly reduce the damage done at close range, but maintain higher damage at slightly longer distances.”
This is a wide set of changes and we hope that Hunt’s Meta is the most stagnant, making some more weapons more viable with higher MMR. Most notably, the dominant Caldwell conversion uppercut (an expensive pistol that fires rifle bullets) is slightly weakened at medium range, so it’s not very powerful in all scenarios.
asynchronous
“Improved game error correction. This allows for faster and more equitable feedback when async can occur. The purpose here is an instance of a sudden and unexpected teleport. Is to reduce. “
Anyone who plays hunts has experienced the sometimes annoying teleports that occur when climbing mud hills or falling off shelves. It’s nice to see this resolved, but I think these aspects are often exaggerated by streamers and top players who tend to stick to the rough edges that affect high-level play. increase.
Two new legendary hunters
Meet “Bartender”, who apparently still needs a name, and another black-clad fighter, Hawkshaw Jack. There is also a broken bottle item (not sure if it’s a standard knife or a heavy knife) and it’s definitely available in a bundle with the bartender. I would like to know the name of the drink served in Hunt’s 18th century saloon. I hope it appears in the lore fragments packed into the menu.
Map changes
In some map areas, ladders and windows have been added or removed, or covers have been dropped in. See for yourself in the image above. The most important change is in the King Snake Mine. The King Snake Mine is a narrow road leading to the main building and side buildings with a new tunnel entrance underneath the complex.
Spawn interval
“Improved player spawns: The minimum distance between players spawning in DeSalle is now 110m. This avoids unfair spawn configurations and allows you to place more spawn points in general. Affects only DeSalle spawns now because the previous map is already larger. Distance between spawns. “
I enjoy the unpredictability of Hunt’s asymmetric spawn points. I love to take part in battles early in the game and unexpectedly encounter players in the first compound. In my own experience, you don’t necessarily have to increase the distance between spawns, but there is no benefit to using Hunt’s comprehensive data. As a result of this change, we hope that the first clues of surprise will not come across as often.
Match report details
After almost every match, my teammates and I stare at the Match Summary screen and try to stitch together a cohesive story about who fought and how it was done. Decoding this information can be a bit difficult. It is not clear when the same player is flagged twice or which team wins the prize first. Some players have already noticed that the test server icons aren’t well distinguished, but it’s nice to see that attention is paid to the UI of this bit that most players interact with each time they play.
The match is short
The limit for the match is now 45 minutes. Interestingly, Crytek shared that “only 1% of all matches exceeded 45 minutes.” After dying at the end of last night’s 30-minute campfest / standoff, I hope the length of the match will be further reduced to prevent stalemate, but Crytek has other ways to deal with the camp. I know there are some undisclosed plans.
