With so many new games coming out every week, really every day, it’s impossible to keep track of them all. Choosing which ones to pay attention to is often a matter of mood. I mean, does it move me in some way, or do something that makes me look in that direction. Granted, it’s not the most scientifically accurate system, but it’s worked very well for me so far. And one of the newly announced games is giving me a pretty good vibe. back to graceis a first-person narrative adventure set in a 1960s-style “retro sci-fi world”.
“Return to Grace” tells the story of Adi Ito, a “space archaeologist” who discovers the demise of an “AI God” named Grace, who once served as the custodian of the solar system. All that’s left now are the split variations of Grace AI, each with their own personalities and motivations, holding the secrets of Grace’s fate and why she was eventually shut down centuries ago. I’m here.
The game is being developed by Creative Bytes and its predecessor (co-developed with Falling Squirrel) was released in 2021 with The Vale: an “audio-based RPG that takes a genius approach to medieval combat.” It was Shadow of the Crown. The unique storytelling aspect of this game, which follows the blind princess’ adventures, including combat, all through voice cues, makes my expectations for Return to Grace very high.
So are the settings and visual styles showcased here. I grew up reading his sci-fi novels and short stories in Golden His Age and New His Wave, but Return to Grace is right there in that wheelhouse. His 2023, between this and The Invincible, could be a good year for pulp his fans looking for an interactive fix. (like me!)
Return to Grace is also apparently a very short game, which is good news for those buried in the relentless tsunami of new game releases. The Steam page describes the game as “a night-sized game that you can complete in one go and play for hours.” different experiences. “
Return to Grace will be released on May 30th and will be available on Steam for PC. epic game store.
