After four years in the making, we finally celebrate the release of God of War: Ragnarok!

The success of God of War (2018) put a lot of pressure on fans to deliver a worthy sequel to its predecessor. This meant new characters and enemies, new areas and creatures, and, most excitingly for the PlayStation Studios Music team, an epic new score.

If you’ve found yourself humming the incredible theme of God of War Ragnarok non-stop since the game released last week, we have some very special news for you.

Earlier this year, as production on Gods of War Ragnarok was in full swing, PlayStation Studios’ music team and game director Eric Williams came up with a fun and unique way to share game scores with the development team at Santa Monica Studios. hosted an internal soundtrack listening party. team.

We picked some of our favorite tracks and gathered a few members of our music production team to give us a behind-the-scenes look at how music is recorded and transformed into interactive moments that become emotional memories for the player. I’ll look.

The team at Santa Monica Studio went wild when they first heard Bear McCreary’s beautifully constructed score. In the same way that music enhances gameplay, these iconic themes provided a boost of kinetic energy and helped carry the team through the rest of the production.

Based on the team’s enthusiastic response, we knew we couldn’t keep this experience within the walls of our studio.

this is what we want to share you – Fan!
