New to Wild Hearts? An action RPG inspired by Koei Tecmo’s Monster Hunter can be a little daunting at first, but there are important things every hunter should know before rushing into battle with beasts. These basic tips will help you understand how in-game combat works, how to best use the game’s gadgets when navigating, and most importantly, how to avoid dying multiple times. There is also Wild Hearts Weapon Tips If you haven’t decided on a main yet and how to unlock it new weapon.

Create a map of your surroundings

The Wild Hearts map is very useful for planning your hunting strategy. And the freedom to move and explore the map means you can start building your resources and travel network right away. The most important thing to do as a starter is to unblock the dragon pits, which are not only scattered throughout the map, but also marked on the map. Or a hunter’s tower that tracks beasts in the area. You can also create more bases for forging and food production, such as clothes racks and pickle jars, and summon gadgets.

Each pit provides a different amount of energy and requires crystals to unblock and upgrade them.Crystals can be found all over the world, but pay special attention to the skeletons littered with tiny butterflies. . These are the Crystal Motherlords. One last tip: Once you’ve unblocked the Dragon Pit, you can upgrade it from the detailed map without going there.

Find a good tent

Each region of Wild Hearts has one hidden area that greatly reduces the price of building a Dragon Karakuri (e.g. 5 Earth Energy to build a Hunter’s Tent instead of 50). The game basically tells you to set up camps at these locations. On the Haruka Kaido, the second camp is by the Yama Shrine at the northern edge of the map.

More generally, the reason you want as many Hunter tents as possible is because these are the ways to fast travel in Wild Hearts. However, in general, you can only buy a few pieces for the full price. That’s why finding discount spots is so important. Also, if you don’t have enough energy to create the desired dragon karakuri, you can dismantle the old karakuri from the map.

Synchronization of hunting towers

A small tip, but essential to know. The game introduces early on a Hunting Tower Contraption that helps you find out where the big beasts are hanging out. They have a limited range, but importantly activating one activates all of them in the region. So if you’re facing a particularly slippery beast, scatter a few of these networks around so you can find them quickly every time they escape.

Enrich Tsukomo

While not Palico or Paramute, Wild Hearts’ little robotic companions are valuable companions. Tsukomo offers a variety of support functions, such as distracting monsters and unloading healing mists when in trouble. Building a campfire also allows you to use old gears to strengthen your Tsukomo and specialize in specific roles such as offense, defense, assist, and threader. You can collect wild Tsukumo around you.

Unlock New Karakuri: Pay Attention to LB/L1 Prompt

Wild Hearts basically has Kemono rolling up attacks, the game goes into slow motion, and a build button (on the LB/L1 pad). Grabbing these opportunities will give you short his QTE-like sequences where the Hunter builds and unlocks new types of Karakuri. Sometimes the epiphany doesn’t happen, but fighting those monsters again usually does the trick.

Other karakuri are unlocked by defeating beasts in the main questline, but inspiration also occurs in optional side quests. to confirm. This will often allow you to unlock other options with your Kemono Orb. Kemono Orb can be obtained by defeating or breaking parts.

Don’t neglect the basic karakuri

One of the first contraptions to unlock is the spring. If you give it a little slap when fighting a giant beast to dodge its attacks, you’ll quickly discover that the bouncing animation gives the hunter an invulnerability frame (much like Monster Hunter’s “Superman” dive). It’s a game changer and I use springs all the time while hunting.

Crates are another simple contraption that offers great value when hunting. Stack 3 crates and jump to perform a unique lunge attack, the most powerful in the game. The Karakuri Katana’s mid-air twist drop does a nasty amount of damage, similar to how the Karakuri Staff pierces the Juggernaut’s blade.

Don’t attack glowing weak spots: Steal threads from there

As the battle progresses, the kemono gains large glowing blue-green spots on its body. The method varies depending on the monster, but you’ll need to gain some height, climb onto its body toward its weak point, and press R1 to use the hunter’s arm. You can get it, but the beasts don’t like it one bit. There are also many weapon skills that are tied directly to the hunter’s arm, increasing attack or defense for a short time after successfully extracting threads.

eat before fighting

Pretty simple: One of the core systems in Wild Hearts is eating food to grant various buffs, but you can’t eat while in combat. So when you find a beast and you’re ready to make a move, prepare something to eat in advance. You can further increase the buff.

Dying monsters are deadliest monsters

Wild Hearts monster.

Many of the Monster Hunter tips apply to Wild Hearts and work just as well, which is really cool. When monsters are about to die, they become enraged and attack more aggressively. However, unlike Monster Hunter, in Wild Hearts, beasts seem to spend longer in this state, and their damage output absolutely goes through the roof.

As such, the most dangerous time in Wild Hearts Hunt is the last five minutes, which can be one of the most frustrating elements of the game, especially in co-op. It’s incredibly annoying to see him reduce the health of a giant monster to 5% and then have to start all over again in one more or less blow.

How to avoid it? The final stages of all monsters have different paces and different attack styles, so the only real advice is contextual. Large sweeps and slams that can hit multiple players at once, and a reduced cooldown for normal attacks. The best thing to do is stay out of their reach and see where the windows are to get a few hits. Do this for 1 minute for each beast. That way you can spend a lot less time dead and angry I ran into a bullshit tail sweep and had to start over.

Mash is good but not like this

Wild Hearts is a game that punishes button mashers, and the springs on some weapons are so silly that a mere slap will get you beaten badly by something much bigger than yourself. If you’re a masher at heart like me, consider focusing on the default katana.

Tall story

Yes, you can damage monster body parts. The most typical target is the tail, but he does it for two reasons. The beast’s attack power is reduced and the reward at the end is increased. You can cut off the tail and smash the parts of the beast just like Monster Hunter. This will drop beast orbs and monster shards that can be harvested. The best way to do this is usually with a powerful attack such as Maul’s Finisher, Nodachi’s Fully Charged Strike, or Karakuri Staff’s Juggernaut Blade.

go home sometimes

The port, the hub of the game, is easy to forget. Wild Hearts encourages you to head out into the wilds and hunt again and again, but here you’ll find regular updates and a variety of side quests that can unlock different goodies. For the next 5-10 hours, return to the port after every few hunts and at least do the Fisherman’s Guild quest available from Novimitsu on the wharf.
