Vampire Survivors’ Second DLC Weaves an Enchanted Fairy Tale On April 13

Dear Survivors, we won five nominations at last night’s BAFTA Awards. By the time I’m writing this, I’m very hopeful that we’ve won (*Editor’s Note: Vampire Survivors won his two BAFTAs, including Best Game) . Anyway, I’m here today with a lot of good news and a little bit of bad news.

The Great Forest is home to all manner of magical beasts, wizards, demi-humans, spirits, demons, angels, and the kind you might not want to meet when your lantern flashes. The walls are dangerously thin, but there are people who traverse the forest to get to what lies at the heart of it: the Foscari Academy.

You wouldn’t expect the world’s elite parents to be keen on risking their offspring just to get an education, but Foscari Academy is more than just a school. Here, the next generation of warriors, scholars, and leaders will learn what it takes to become masters of their craft.

The Academy’s massive façade tells the stories of generations, with each era leaving its own imprint on the sprawling building. The different architectural styles of the period, influenced by cultures from around the world, have created a curious and unique jumble, but leave the senses a little bewildered.

The academy, like many traditional schools in Western Europe, is divided into houses. Azure Tower molds hedge witches and novice sorcerers into formidable sorcerers and warlocks. Here, arcane practitioners and non-magical folk can learn the natural sciences and diplomacy. Azure Tower touts the world’s most powerful witches and wizards as well as the most accomplished healers and scholars as alumni.

Crimson Anvil transforms brute force into a master of finely tuned combat. But even those who don’t have the fighting strength (or gut fortitude) have a lot to learn here. Engineering, building, demolition, and smithing are all areas of the Crimson Anvil.

And finally, Amber Sickle is a quiet vocational home. These noble pursuits include accounting and agriculture, animal husbandry and archery. But if you pay close attention, you might catch a glimpse of a student practicing spycraft in a spy trade training. Amber Sickle students have little fame, yet their work is felt all over the world.
