How do I get Dark Tide cosmetics?
Darktide’s hub world, Mourningstar, has an equipment shop, but it’s strictly for weapons. This shop does not sell items that characters can actually wear. Body gear is purely cosmetic, and as of his beta period at launch, Mourningstar has nowhere to go to buy clothes. Instead, cosmetics can only be earned by completing Penances, which are essentially Darktide challenges/achievements.
The first cosmetics you are likely to unlock are the rewards for reaching level 5 and level 10. These two just acquire new shirts and pants and spend time on Darktide.
Press Esc to open the penance menu and see the full list of assignments. Most cosmetic rewards come from class-specific penances. For example, you can get nifty new pants by using Ogrin’s Skullbreaker to interrupt the charge of Plague Ogrin’s enemies with your own special move.
Some non-class-specific challenges also award other cosmetic items, such as frames, which are small borders for character portraits. However, they do not offer character-specific costumes.
You can also get some cosmetics from deluxe Darktide Imperial Editionif you want to pay real money:
- Loyalist Pack: Purge heretics in style with 4 unique class outfits, 8 weapon skin patterns, a set of headgear, and Ogrin body tattoos.
- Mortis Veteran Portrait Frame: A cosmetic portrait frame used to pay homage to the fallen defenders of the Tertium Hive.
- Caducades Backpack: A decorative backpack for a human character. Recovered from Cadia’s war dead, this backpack is repurposed for those still alive and fighting.

Are there cosmetics stores in Dark Tide?
Darktide has cosmetics you can buy. The Imperial Edition comes with 2,500 Aquilas, Dark Tide’s premium currency. However, no word yet on when the premium cosmetic shop will be added to the game.

What’s in the Premium Store?
The premium store is focused on cosmetic items such as character skins, weapon skins, other small customizable items, and DLC content.
How does premium currency work?
Aquilas is the currency used to purchase items available in the Premium Store. Aquilas is currently only available as an in-game purchase.
How does the in-game currency (Tertium Twins) work?
Twins are currency earned by doing in-game activities such as completing missions and selling salvaged items. This currency is used for other in-game activities, such as improving equipment. This currency cannot be used to purchase cosmetics from the Premium Store.
How do I get cosmetics?
Cosmetics can be obtained in two ways: progressing through the game or from the Premium Store. Progress Her cosmetics are distributed as the player progresses through the story and through the various challenges the game offers. Cosmetics from the Premium Store can be acquired as long as they are available and can be equipped by any character of that class account-wide.
How should I manage my cosmetics?

Anyway, how do you use cosmetics in Dark Tide?
Easy! Press Esc to bring up the main menu, then click Operative to go to the character menu. You can also press the ‘I’ key as a shortcut to go directly to your inventory.From there[åē²§å]Click on the tabs to see the cosmetic slots available: Head, Upper Body, Lower Body, Accessories, Frames and Badges.
At the bottom right of the cosmetics page, there’s also a stance menu that takes you to another page, ultimately showing you the various character stances for pre- and post-mission cutscenes.
