Siegel plays Jimmy Laird, a widowed therapist. Grief results in Jimmy reaching a breaking point and sharing his brutally honest opinions during the session. With a new approach to therapy, Jimmy begins to break through relationships with his patients and breathe new life into them. However, this strategy is a “violation of ethical barriers,” and Jimmy’s fellow therapist and mentor, Dr. Paul Rose, is of the same opinion (of Indiana Jones Harrison Ford).
